CFS software will have 3 design methods:
– LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design)
– ASD (Allowable Strength Design)
– LSD (Limited Strength Design)
LRFD and ASD methods are used in the USA and LSD method is used in Canada.
- Does it design for custom shapes as well?
It will design for only standard shapes as defined in AISI.
- Is Cold Formed Steel framing software?
No. It is a design and analysis software. It will design a member for loading or check a specific member for existing loads.
- Does it design/analyze a beam (flexure member) or a column (axially loaded member)?
Yes, and both.
- Can you design an assembly for example, a wall framing or roof truss?
At this time, our software will design/check a single member (beam or column) at a time.
- Can I add sections to the section database in CFS Software?
Yes, you can add the section if it is a standard AISI shape.
