Multiple Load Footing is a simple and straightforward program for the fast and accurate design of strip footings (e.g., combined, strap, trapezoidal, rectangular, etc.). Multiple Load Footing is best suited for the design of footings that support more than one collinear column (columns that lie on the same line). Such footings are all but impossible to solve with closed form solutions, so Multiple Load Footing uses a Finite Elements solution based on a Winkler foundation to model the soil.

Multiple Load Footing is a specialized program for the analysis and design of “beam on grade type footings,” typified by strip footings, strap footings, and other one-way footings. Using Multiple Load Footings simplifies the analysis and design of these complex footings, enabling you to offer more creative solutions to tough footing design problems.

  • Flexural reinforcement design (bar size and spacing) and concrete shear checks (beam and punching) per ACI 318-95.
  • Loads include self-weight, concentrated forces and moments, uniform, pressure, and settlement/displacement loads.
  • Automatic generation of soil springs. Additional rigid supports (fixed or pinned) can also be defined to model situations where the footings are tied to other structures, piles or bear on a solid surface.
  • When a spring goes into tension it can be automatically removed by Multiple Load Footing or retained, depending on user input.
  • Spring forces are converted to soil pressures for verifying allowable pressure values.
  • Output includes footing deflection, moments, shears, reinforcement design, shear capacity checks and soil pressures.
  • Plots of the footings plan view; deflected shape, shear and moment diagrams can be viewed and printed.
  • The user can specify what outputs are to be included in the reports.
